CTC Auditorium Named in Honor of ‘Mr. Mac’

To celebrate the early birthday of special longtime friend and lead custodian, Charles “Mr. Mac” McCaulley, Columbus Technical College has renamed its main auditorium in his honor. The naming announcement came as a surprise Monday morning to the one hundred or so faculty and staff members, including the honoree, who attended the “mandatory presentation” called by Columbus Tech president, Bob Jones. The room will now be known as McCaulley Auditorium; customized signage has already been put in place.

Charles McCaulley started working at the college in 1974 when it was known as the Columbus Area Vocational-Technical School. Mr. Mac will turn 87 years young on January 8 and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon! Also attending the renaming ceremony were his wife of 48 years, Wavi, and the youngest of their three sons, Carlos.
