Columbus Tech Honors Outgoing President with Surprise Naming Ceremony

If you find yourself in Columbus Technical College’s Carl Patrick Hall any time soon, be sure to check out the latest addition honoring retiring President Bob Jones. The college’s hi-tech conference and technology center now bears the name “J. Robert Jones.” During a recent surprise ceremony, members of the Columbus Tech Local and Foundation Boards, the college’s Vice Presidents, and the Jones family dedicated the facility.

Executive Vice President and CFO of the College, Betty Jackson, compared the image of the college to a Facebook page that’s grown by leaps and bounds in reputation and size.

“He has made the community a better place and has changed the Facebook page of Columbus Technical College significantly since he came here in 1998,” Jackson said.

President Jones announced his retirement as of June 30, 2013 after serving as the college’s chief administrator for 15 years.
