Retired President Earns Emeritus Status

Recently-retired president of Columbus Technical College, J. Robert “Bob” Jones, is now considered a President Emeritus. At its October meeting in Atlanta, the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) unanimously approved the motion made by Third District representative Frank S. “Chunk” Newman to instill this honor to Mr. Jones.

President Emeritus Jones says he was thrilled with being given this distinction.

“Columbus Technical College and the Chattahoochee Valley will always be near and dear to my heart,” Jones said. “I am honored to have been given the opportunity to serve as president of Columbus Technical College for 15 years. The growth and commitment Columbus Tech has to its community is unparalleled and I’m just privileged to have played a part in it.”
