CTC Welcomes Newest Board Member

Columbus Technical College is pleased to welcome its newest Local Board Member, representing Harris County, Pine Mountain Mayor Jim Trott. The nomination of Mayor Trott was unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees on February 6, 2014. Jim Trott is a retired educator, with much of his work experience in the higher education field. During his 23 year tenure at Louisiana State University, Trott served as a professsor of industrial technology, the director of the School of Vocational Education and Technology, an associate dean of the College of Agriculture, and the interim dean of students.

Newly-elected Mayor of Pine Mountain, Jim Trott, is the newest Trustee on Columbus Technical College’s Local Board of Directors.

“His experience is invaluable to us,” said President Lorette M. Hoover. “His expertise in writing curriculum and admission programs, as well as being a community leader, will serve Columbus Technical College extremely well. We are thrilled that he will help lead our College into the future.”

Trustees on the Columbus Technical College Local Board serve for three years.

Besides Mayor Trott, the current Local Board of Directors is: (Quitman County) John Pritchett/Chair, (Muscogee County) David Fox/Vice Chair, (Muscogee) Velma Bright/Secretary, (Muscogee) The Honorable Ben Richardson, (Talbot County) Joe “Slade” Johnson, and (Muscogee) Deborah Saylor.
