Advisory Committees

Changes in technology, business, industry, and government have increased the need for effective communication between education and the world of work; therefore, the College invites representatives of area businesses and industries to serve on advisory committees to ensure its programs meet the needs of employers. The guidance and recommendations of these committees for each program maintain the standards of education and training. The committees provide insight into the trends affecting the workplace and assist in evaluation of program effectiveness, job development, job placement, program promotion, state-standards compliance, program advocacy, and industrial support of programs.

The program-advisory committees meet a minimum of two times annually on a scheduled basis to evaluate training, curriculum, and instructional-equipment needs and to make recommendations for program improvement.
