RESP 1120 - Introduction to Respiratory Therapy (3)
Provides students with the principles of chemistry and physics as they apply to respiratory therapy. Emphasizes specific modes of respiratory care in order to understand the principles of application to patients, indications, hazards, contraindications, evaluation of therapy, and patient assessment. Topics include: respiratory chemistry and physics principles, patient assessment, medical gasses, humidity/aerosol therapy, positive pressure breathing, incentive spirometry, postural drainage, percussion/vibration, universal precautions, and hospital safety.
