Security and Access to Campus Facilities
The Columbus Technical College campus is located in North Columbus and consists of an administration building, a library, and 13 academic buildings. Police officers patrol campus buildings and grounds on a regular basis, and report—by telephone or radio—any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions to the Police Office. Officers emphasize security considerations during the general maintenance of campus facilities. Campus buildings and parking areas are well lighted to provide a safe environment. Campus buildings and facilities are accessible during normal business operating hours, Monday through Thursday, and for certain special functions.
For safety reasons, the College requires all members of the campus community, including students, to wear College I.D. cards while on campus. Students must also have College I.D. cards for use in the bookstore, library, etc. Students receive I.D. cards at registration. The fee for replacement of a lost card is $5. Students must obtain parking permits from the Business Office so that authorities can identify vehicles authorized to be on campus as well as owners whose vehicles are illegally parked or involved in accidents.
