PHY 1111 - The first course of three algebra and trigonometry based courses in the physics sequence. This course introduces the classical theories of mechanics. Topics include: measurements and systems of units; Newton's laws; work energy, and power; momentum and collisions; one and two dimensional motion; circular motion and law of gravity; and rotational dynamics and mechanical equilibrium. Laboratory exercises supplement class work. Computer use is an integral part of class and laboratory assignments.
