WLD 160 - Welding and Joining Technology Half-Time Internship - Provides additional skills application in an industrial setting through a cooperative agreement among industry, the Welding Joining Technology program, and the student to furnish employment in a variety of welding occupations. Emphasizes student opportunities to practice welding skills in a hands-on situation and to work in an industrial environment under the supervision of a master welding technician. Supplements and complements the courses taught in the Welding and Joining Technology program. Topics include application of welding and joining skills, appropriate employability skills, problem solving, adaptability to job equipment and technology, progressive productivity, and acceptable job performance. Prerequisite: Successful completion of two full quarters (24+ credit hours) with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the Welding and Joining Program and/or advisor approval
