The Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) training program will provide you with the skills necessary to succeed and progress in today's high performance manufacturing environment. The CMS program at Columbus Technical College is working with Georgia's Quick Start program, The Valley Partnership, the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, the Development Authority of Columbus, the Georgia Department of Labor, and our business partners to offer hands-on manufacturing skills training and job placement assistance.

Our business partners offer competitive salaries, full time and part time jobs, and flexible hours. Excellent benefits are available, including health, life, and dental insurance, paid holidays and vacation, retirement (pension, 401K plans) and more. Operator, technician, journeyman, apprenticeship, and coordinator positions offered in diverse operations including: machining, casting, automated production, assembly, finishing, packaging, material handling, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and inventory control.

Georgia residents may choose to use the HOPE scholarship funds to cover tuition and books (does not include registration fee). High school diploma/GED not required for program admission. Most business partners require high school diploma / GED for employment.

The program consists of 160 contact hours / 15 credit hours. Classes are held twice a week in the evening.

Full-time students can complete the program in 8 weeks. Part-time students can complete the program in 5 months.

Upon successful completion of training, you will be certified by the Academy and guaranteed an interview with one of our business partners.
