Microsoft Office Specialist
MOS Certification Program
The Certified Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate Program prepares you for employment by meeting the proficiency requirements in today's business environment.
The program includes courses in microcomputer fundamentals, information processing, spreadsheet fundamentals, advanced spreadsheet fundamentals, database fundamentals, advanced database techniques and presentation fundamentals.
Admission Requirements:
- Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma or official GED scores.
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Meet minimum test scores (Compass Exam).
- No special or provisional admission allowed.
- Pay $25.00 Application Fee
Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or better each quarter to progress in this program of study. There are no academic prerequisites for this program.

- How do I prepare for a MOS Exam?
- There are no prerequisites for taking a MOS exam; however, to ensure that you are prepared for each exam, you can do one or all of the following:
- Take computer class at Columbus Technical College - Computer Training & Technology department, which offers Computer Workshops/Classes utilizing Microsoft-approved courseware that will help you prepare for the exam. A list of courses appears in the program information above.

- How do I schedule to take a MOS Exam?
- Tests can be scheduled by calling Computer Training and Technology at 706.649.1518.
- What is the cost to take a MOS Exam?

- Cost for each exam, except Project, is $92.00 - Cost for each Project exam is $115.00
- Payment for each exam must be made at least three (3) days before your scheduled test
- Rescheduling of a test must be made at least 24 hours before a scheduled test
- Refunds may be requested three (3) working days before your scheduled test
