Financial Aid Renewal.

Who is eligible for Financial Aid?

Financial aid is available to qualified students from a variety of federal, state, and local sources. Students receiving financial aid from any Title IV Program and/or State grant will be required to maintain a quarterly grade point average of 2.0 and complete at least 67 percent of the scheduled credits for each quarter. Students enrolled in associate degree programs receiving the HOPE Scholarship are required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Students are ineligible for any financial aid (federal or state) if they are:

  • In default on a previous educational loan or owe a refund on any grant.
  • Enrolled as an unclassified student.
  • Enrolled in a Business & Industry Training Center course, or any course that does not lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate.

Types of assistance offered include grants and scholarships. It is the policy of Columbus Technical College to coordinate, campus-wide, all financial aid activities to ensure optimum utilization of available resources.

How do I find sources of funding?

Students wishing to apply for assistance should review the Financial Aid Programs available.

Campus-wide Financial Aid Referral Service

Students who wish to apply for assistance should discuss options with the Financial Aid Office. Because some programs are managed by personnel outside the financial aid office, it will be necessary to refer applicants to other program managers. It is important that anyone seeking financial assistance start the process at the financial aid office. All sources of financial aid on campus are coordinated and complete referral lists are available in the Financial Aid Office, Room 153-A, Hartline Building (Administration Building).
