New Award Honors Dr. Edith Thompson

Updated February 25, 2008 - Dr. Edith "Edie" Thompson, a longtime representative of Columbus Technical College and tireless advocate for technical education, now has an award in her honor. Representatives from the Lighthouse State Planning Committee with the Technical College System of Georgia surprised Dr. Thompson with her award at a Columbus Technical College Board Meeting in January.

The Dr. Edith Thompson Award of Excellence in Leadership is named for Dr. Thompson's dedication, commitment, and loyalty to both the Lighthouse and Rick Perkins Award programs. The Lighthouse State Planning Committee will select a member to receive this award each year. Dr. Thompson's contributions helped make these programs hugely successful. The Technical College System of Georgia and Columbus Technical College in particular would like to thank Dr. Thompson for her years of dedication and service!
