First Diagnostic Medical Sonography Class Ready to Graduate

August 15, 2008 - Columbus Technical College would like to congratulate its first graduating class of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. The students will officially finish this Associate Degree program at the end of this quarter (Summer, 2008). Program Manager, Gail Malatich, says four of her eight students have already been hired and the others are interviewing for jobs.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographers operate sophisticated ultrasound imaging equipment under the direction of a physician. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer positions are expected to increase 19% or more over the next eight years and the national average salary is about $58,000/year.
