Crews Install Steel Beams for CTC Health Building

August 10, 2009: Columbus Technical College President Bob Jones was on hand Monday as construction crews installed the first of many steel support beams for the up-and-coming Dr. Robert L. Wright, Jr. Health Sciences Center. The steel erection process of the construction should take about six weeks to complete.

Once the "steel skeleton" of the approximate 78,000 square foot building is finished, the next steps will be installing the roof and elevated slabs.  Then comes the building's enclosure process which is scheduled to get underway this October. Columbus Technical College is scheduled to hold its first classes in the building in the fall quarter of 2010. For up-to-the-minute views of the progress, check this link.
