Dental Hygiene Student Earns $500 Scholarship

October 29, 2009: Senior Columbus Technical College Dental Hygiene student Brittney Nikole Wells now has $500 to help offset the cost of finishing school. The Emile T. Fisher Foundation for Dental Education in Georgia, Inc. provided the $500 scholarship money for one recipient. The money was distributed through Columbus Technical College Foundation, Inc. Nikole will use the Fisher Scholarship money to pay for a set of "After Five" instruments, clinic supplies and required testing needed to complete her licensure in Dental Hygiene.

In her scholarship application, Nikole said a career in dental hygiene is her dream and after graduation, she hopes to work with children who face the dental chair. "I would love to work in a pediatric practice as I have discovered during my work experience that I am particularly fond of working with younger patients."
