In her scholarship application, Judy Bulloch wrote about her love for nursing.

"Nursing is extremely important to me. It is not only my career, but it is who I am...Nursing is something I can never learn enough about. It is constantly changing and evolving. I believe nursing is in my blood."

Anastacia Atkins is already employed at Doctors Hospital as a nurse - she earned her Practical Nursing license at Columbus Technical College and is continuing her education to become a Registered Nurse.

"After a few years of experience with Columbus Regional, I would like to do travel nursing," Anastacia wrote. "Ultimately, I hope to cross over into working for non-governmental agencies, such as the International Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders."

About the scholarship: In September 2003, the Doctors Hospital Auxiliary in Columbus, Georgia received a one-time gift from Annie Velma Urquhart Klayder Chartiable Remainder Unitrust for the purpose of establishing an endowment fund for a continuing nursing scholarship program. The amount of the gift was $48,724.59 to be invested and only the subsequent earnings to be used for a scholarship fund. In July 2008, the Doctors Hospital Auxiliary transferred the funds to the Columbus Technical College Foundation, Inc. for scholarships to be given to students in the Associate Degree Nursing program.
