Major Appliance Technology Diploma

Next Steps

Program Description:

When an appliance doesn’t work any more, someone needs to know the reason and needs to be able to repair it. You will be that person, whether you are in business for yourself, working for a commercial repair service, or providing the know-how to business and industry when their appliances need repair. You will learn how to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electrical motors and household appliances by learning the fundamentals of appliance controls and electrical circuitry. You will gain knowledge of microcomputers. If you take pride in making sure appliances work the way they should and if you believe everything can be repaired, this program will provide you with the skills and knowledge that will make you the person to call.

The focus of this program is hands-on work that enables you to diagnose and repair damaged equipment in a live-work environment. As a graduate, you will be prepared to take the National Appliance Service Technician Certificate Examination. This credential will identify you as an industry-trained professional.
