Transfer students must meet all new-student admission requirements. Students who have completed a degree-level program at another accredited college or university and who present an official transcript from that college or university documenting the degree will not be required to submit a high school transcript.
Applicants to Columbus Technical College who have been previously enrolled at another college or university will be considered for admission as transfer students.
Students who have completed college-level English and mathematics coursework from a regionally accredited institution with grades of “C” or better and who present official transcripts showing the completed coursework will not be required to undergo additional testing prior to acceptance into degree, diploma, or certificate-level programs. Programs with competitive acceptance processes may require valid test scores.
Transfer students are required to take the placement test if their transcript indicates less-than- satisfactory performance at the previous college(s).
A transfer student is admitted to Columbus Technical College:

A student admitted on probation must earn a grade point average of at least 2.0 during the first semester enrolled to continue the next semester.
Advanced Placement/Transfer of Credit
Columbus Technical College will grant credit for previous coursework from other regionally or nationally accredited institutions, as well as extra-institutional learning, that meets the quality of established standards. Credit will be awarded if the student passes the course with a minimum grade of “C”, and the course must correspond in description, credit hours, and competencies to the courses offered at Columbus Tech. Some courses have a time limit for transfer; there is a five year time limit on all computer courses. A minimum of 25% of the coursework must be completed at Columbus Tech to be awarded the credential from the institution. For detailed information on the college’s procedure for Advanced Placement and Transfer Credit, please see the Columbus Tech Student Handbook/Catalog.
