Simply put, Dual Enrollment is the express lane to a great future! Dual Enrollment allows Georgia high school students to be dually-enrolled in their high school and college level classes at the same time. By doing so, these students can earn literally years' worth of college credit and/or a technical degree, diploma or certification. These students enjoy FREE tuition, FREE use of books and any college resource. Once enrolled, these students become part of the Columbus Technical College family.
Classes may be offered at a student's home high school or at our college campus. Dual Enrollment courses must meet both high school and college curriculum standards. Since Dual Enrollment classes generally cover more material than high school courses, they are most often taught by a college instructor.
Who can enroll?
- 9th - 12th graders
- Must be currently enrolled at any participating Georgia public, private or home school
- Students may need to take the Accuplacer Placement Exam if they do not have minimum SAT/ACT scores, or if they have never taken the SAT or ACT. *SAT and ACT are not required for admission to the Dual Enrollment program.*
- 11th and 12th graders DO NOT need to take a placement exam or submit SAT/ACT scores if their HOPE GPA is 2.6 or higher. Proof of GPA from high school or GAfutures is sufficient.

Is Financial Aid available?
Dual Enrollment is funded through the state and does not affect a student's future use of Georgia's HOPE Scholarship or Grant. For more information on the HOPE program, view the Technical College System of Georgia HOPE Information or contact your school counselor.
*Students below the junior level who are currently in a high school career and technical education course may be eligible to participate in Dual Enrollment programs.
